Scrabble, the all time favorite family game and picnic entertainer has turned 60. The game was introduced in 1931 – invented by Alfred Mosher Butts an architect - and was thick in media recently due to the licencing issues of ‘Scrabulous’ Facebook Avatar as the trademark of the name resides with Hasbro, Inc. In honour of Scrabble's 60th Birthday, Trafalgar Square became a giant Scrabble board with pieces measuring 1 metre square. Scrabble is a word game in which two to four players score points by forming words from individual lettered tiles on a game board marked with a 15-by-15 grid. The words are formed across and down in crossword fashion and must appear in a standard dictionary.
